\maketitle

At the present time, electrokinetic phenomena are considered in various areas of science and engineering. These phenomena are taken into account in geophysics when interpreting observations of methods of the natural electric field and induced polarization, as well as in biomechanics, metallurgy, etc. Electrokinetic phenomena are successfully used in the creation of chemotronic elements of computational equipment, seismic receivers, hydrophones, and instruments to control the composition of liquids and their flow rate.

In this paper, the dependence of the potential coefficient of a conducting fluid in conducting porous media on porosity, permeability, conductivity of the fluid, the dielectric constant, the zeta potential and the ratio of the physical density of a conducting fluid to the physical density of a conducting elastic porous medium is obtained. It is found that the product of the potential and the current stream coefficients is strictly positive.
